Having A Brother Is Like Having A Treasure – Being Parents

Children always express the desire to have an accomplice to play and have fun. Therefore, having a brother is ideal for this. In this article, we are going to analyze what the union between siblings looks like and why mutual company is so important to both.

When the little ones in the house are only children, they are usually spoiled in many ways because they are the center of the family’s attention. This can have a few advantages. But if  you ask any child if they want a sibling, we’re sure their answer will be yes.

The bonds between brothers and sisters are very strong, regardless of age. At times in their lives their relationships may not be the best, but that will change soon and they will become superb accomplices.

Twin brothers

The relationship between babies who have shared their mother’s womb is on the verge of love and hate. Although they are physically the same, their personalities will be very different.

There is between them a very strong bond, even a little more intense than that of the brothers who were born on different dates. The twins are the most loyal accomplices between them. They take full advantage of having a brother, as they share their dreams and daily adventures with him.

A glance is often enough to know what the other is thinking. They feel supported and protected even though sometimes dilemmas arise.

Competitiveness is the bread and butter, but  the support they give each other to overcome obstacles is truly unique. Identical twins feel that having a brother is like having treasure.

Having a brother with a big age difference

In this case, there is usually a little more distance at certain points in their life. Indeed, due to the age difference, the interests are very different.

It may even be that for one of the brothers, the other is an embarrassment. It will depend a lot on the personality of each of them as well as the family environment.

The older brother will be the model for the younger. He will always see him as an idol who has the opportunity to do things he wouldn’t dare or dream of doing because of his age.

The youngest hopes that in the future he can follow in his brother’s footsteps and that he applauds everything he does. For the eldest, his little brother represents a treasure that must be protected. 

He accepts that having a brother comes with responsibilities. For example, if his parents are away from home, he will be responsible for the well-being of his little brother.

Sometimes the older brother is bored with the younger one. But he also remembers that he was a child before and that accompanying his little brother on his adventures, especially to protect him, is not so bad. A strong bond is then formed between admiration, respect and the protective instinct.

Have a brother with little age difference

Having a brother of the same age is a big advantage. Bonds and complicity are strengthened through the sharing of games and stages of life that they go through at the same time.

Going to the same kindergarten and having to face the challenges of school together is a great relief for them and for the parents. These brothers and sisters will help each other immensely.

As for the dynamics of the house and the parents, this is also very practical. Indeed,  the economic aspect is the one that is the most favored because expenses of all kinds will quickly be reused by the other child.

This is ideal because they will also be able to share the same room. This will make it easier for parents to put things away, bedtime, etc., since there is only one space.

The energy invested in education is harnessed twice. For example, timing of diapers, learning to use cutlery or brushing teeth, among others.

The fact of being brought together in age and living the phases of growth with each other always sets  one of the two brothers the role of example for the other.  One of the two will learn something more easily and teach it to the other. The latter will follow him through constant observation.

By watching how his brother is doing, the other learns faster.

Ultimately,  having a sibling will always be an advantage despite the logical quarrels that may arise. It is about a being who lives by our side, who grows up in the same house. And with whom we will maintain an almost unshakeable bond.
