The Challenges And Difficulties Of Mothering Children – Being Parents

The challenges and difficulties of mothering children

This happens because in Western societies like ours productivity and independence are promoted and glorified.  Also, putting these concepts into practice conflicts with a baby’s natural (and normal) demands.

Difficulties associated with mothering children

Thus, in a competitive society where goods and appearances are more important than happiness, when a mother makes the effort to mother her child, she must also face many difficulties. Here are some of them:

Rigid hospital protocols

Investigate your hospital’s protocols and the support they offer for breastfeeding. You can request that your baby be delivered to you immediately at birth,  sleep in your room, and not be given formula without your permission. Above all, don’t let them decide for you.

Maternity leave that is too short

Very often we have to make the decision to stop working at least for a while to take care of our children. Other times, on the contrary,  we have to keep working in order to be able to live  . However, there are many obstacles that prevent us from balancing the way we would like to live in our personal and professional life.

There are a lot of original names for kids that you will surely like.

Leaving our child in the care of someone is obviously not the easiest solution. But sometimes there is no other option. So, first of all, keep in mind that your baby will also notice the separation.  So you have to give her all your love when you come back from work to make up for your absence.

Loss of confidence in your own abilities

You may have heard many times that your milk is not enough, that you hug your baby too much and that he cries because he is spoiled. Or that if you let him sleep with you, he will be a dependent adult and other opinions about your child’s care. In this case, it  is normal to lose confidence in yourself and in your decisions.

But, think about it. Can’t humanity suddenly survive without formulas of milk, bottles, pacifiers, strollers and any other system that seeks to replace the mother’s body? In case of difficulties, inform yourself well. Investigate and ask for help if you feel it is necessary.  Again, follow your maternal instinct, you are the best solution to your baby’s discomforts.

Your own doubts and insecurity

Even when you listen to your maternal instincts and maintain your self-esteem, you will have doubts. After all, being a mother is not easy. It is a great responsibility. So it’s normal that there are times when you wonder if you’re doing right. It is these doubts that will allow you to evaluate yourself and try to improve certain aspects.

Constant social disapproval of the way you raise your child

Quite often, and perhaps with the best of intentions,  family and friends suffocate the new mother with advice and recommendations, reducing her self-confidence. A mother who is busy listening to everyone around her cannot focus on knowing her baby and learning to read her cues.

Although, for most people, you raise weak children, parenting them will create the emotional security in your child to grow up to be an independent adult with good self-esteem.

Your childhood wounds

Having injuries related to the way you were educated is the most difficult of all difficulties. Becoming a mother gives you a unique opportunity to discover yourself, to explore your childhood soul again. Heal your wounds, forgive and carry on. Rather, raise your child in the value of respect and understanding. So you are giving your inner child permission to be accepted, respected and understood.

Remember, being a parent is a daily learning process and we all make mistakes. Mothering your child is raising him with love, and nothing that is done with or out of love is bad.
