Mom, You, Me And No One Else – Being Parents

Mom, you, me and no one else

I know it’s not easy, especially when  I get sick  and you have to run alone to the hospital or the pharmacy at midnight. When I ask you about daddy, about other families, or about comments I hear and don’t always understand.

I also understand  that it’s not easy to smile when I’m sad and you’re too tired. But you always succeed even if it seems to you not. I have a hundred reasons, mom :

  • Because you have the diploma of the most sincere, deep and unconditional love that exists.
  • Because you have a thousand medals that you don’t brag about.
  • Because you are my nurse and my guide, the only one who can heal my knee and heart wounds with endless kisses and hugs.
  • Because you are my nurse, my confidante and my eternal companion.
  • Because even if you feel defeated, you continue to seal my sorrows and my concerns.
  • Because being your child is a privilege.
  • Because you breathe bravery and you bring me to life.
  • Because you spend your life forging swords and shields, repairing wounds and building fantastic huts.
  • Because I want my children to have a mother like you, the most special, the prettiest.

Mom, I also know that many  people judge us  and that we can inspire compassion. But they don’t understand, they don’t know how happy we are and how much we share together every day.

You and me, and nothing else, Mom. We are a genuine family and there is nothing better to guarantee unconditional love.

Thank you mom for everything you give us

Mom, I’m not going to deny that sometimes I would like to have my dad by my side, nor can I promise you that there won’t be hard times, misunderstandings and double or triple emotional labor. But  it is precisely because you have always loved me for two, supported me for two and supported me for two, I know that with you I lack nothing.

I realize that the emotional demand to take care of myself and educate myself, as well as to face the difficulties of everyday life, is a truly grueling challenge. I know that sometimes sadness takes over you because I notice it on your face and sometimes I hear you sob.

But I do know, Mom, that these are only moments of emotional strain that single moms need to have to reaffirm once again that we are your blessing and that thanks to us children you are able to overcome it all.

I realize that, like any other child, I can sometimes be unbearable; but you, mum, can’t send me for a walk with daddy and relax. But after all, you and I still get along.

You are a hurricane and I love disasters, we complement each other well. I love our little secret moments, our reading corner and our movie and blanket nights. I love falling asleep on your knees, laying me down on the floor and playing with me or reading me a story for the night.

And this way you have, mom, to prepare my favorite dish and surprise me. The way you smile makes me so happy and lucky that an earthquake is awakening in me. Your love, mom, teaches me not to conform to anything.

thank you mom for loving me with unconditional love

Thanks to you, I learned that the principles that will keep me standing are based on  love from the bottom of my heart,  on having one hand to give and another to receive, on humility and feeling proud of yourself and your family.

You deserve everything, mom. Thank you for every victory, every dream, every kiss and for every big hug. Thank you for arming yourself with patience in the face of my mistakes, for making me feel great, for being my greatest privilege, for supporting me, thank you for your efforts and your ambitions.

Thank you for being the master of my life, mom; you have been, you are and you will always be my anchor in life.
